Bubble gum bracelets

I am making some bubble gum jewelry for my cousins bridesmaids to wear. I gave them the choice of these two bracelets. They chose the top one. Fun fun. Can't wait to post more pics.

Plastic drawer redo

A few months ago we were given these plastic drawers. I thought...perfect for my girls little toys. The same day I gave them the drawers, they colored all over them with sharpie. Since then, they have used them on and off. Mostly off. I'm still missing a drawer from a second set, because they didn't take care of them.

I confiscated the drawers for myself. I sprayed on some primer for plastic spray paint on everything. (Lowes, less than $6). After an hour, I was able to put on the spray paint. I already had the gray and blue, but they were less than $4 at Lowes.

I am totally in love with how they came out! Now to figure out what to put in them.
*note, I did not spray the inside of the drawers. Just the outside.

Down East Home

I now officially have a new favorite store. This week I got to check out a store that is new to Gilbert....DownEast Home in San Tan Village. There was a neat event held for a bunch of blogging ladies to check the new store out. Oh my gosh. LOVE! When I went to check it out, I really didn't know what to expect. They had a section for their adorable DownEast Basics clothing line and the rest of the store was full of so many wonderful treasures. They have name brand furniture items for up to 90% off. They had tables, hutches, sofa tables, the most adorable little buffet cabinets, couches, bed, desks and so many other furniture items. I fell in love with a hook rail, but I didn't get it...only to go back today and it was gone :( Bummer.

<3 the furniture!

The bunk bed is beautiful, not to mention the bedding and lap desk.

Where I spent most of my visit was in the kid section. They have the MOST adorable backpacks, luggage, lunch boxes, bedding, etc that are monogrammed with kids names! Not only were they CUTE...but they were an amazing price.

Adorable lunch boxes.....

Only $18 for this amazing jewelry box...down from $73. The prices are fantastic!

I was lucky enough to get a backpack for one of my girls. With the sale....less than $7...down from about $45. I am TOTALLY sold. I actually went back today and got 5 more backpacks! ha! The quality is amazing and the price is unbeatable.

I will be coming back to DownEast Home often and checking all of their new items. Great quality product at a great price. I'm sold! ....and honestly, a little giddy over my awesome finds.

Hurry into the store before February 8th to enter a drawing for a $200 gift card for you and four $50 gift cards for your four of your friends

Christmas crafts

To make life easier, I am making this all one post.

For a little December craft night, I got the materials for a few ladies and myself to do. I found the instructions HERE  on "Learning to be me" blog. Everyone's nativities turned out super cute!

A little craft I did for fun and I was just goofing around....
I took metal platters from the $1 store and spray painted them. I then cut out the nativity on my Silhouette Cameo and put them on the platters. I was ghetto and hung them up with duck tape...easy and it worked.

This next project seemed so simple...but really...it wasn't. My plan was to take white, red, and green polymer clay and cut out three different shapes of Christmas tree and turn them into ornaments...

Problem 1) the red clay was super hard and took about 30 min. of hard work per section to soften up.
Problem 2) I didn't buy enough clay to make as many as I needed
Problem 3) I made a huge batch with about 45 Ornaments with all 3 layers....and they ALL burned...not usable.

So....I modified it a little and made a simpler ornament. However, the original design is beautiful!

Supplies needed.....
Along with some jewlery pliers,  ribbon, rhinestones, and E6000.

For the final design I just used the medium cutter, pushed the pin through the clay and cooked it. When they were cooled, I used pliers to twist the top of the pin and made a loop. I then glued the rhinestone on and put ribbon through the loop.

I think they turned out cute and am excited to figure out what I will make next year!

Show your school pride!

Last March I made this little sign for a Church activity I was going to. I put a lot of research into it.Before I started my project, I googled the official font for the University I went to. It was really neat to see the different options and learn more about my Alma Mater.

After I figured out the font, I grabbed a piece of scrap wood I had and painted it blue (one of the school colors).

I then use my Silhouette Cameo to cut out "NAU" in vinyl and used it as a stencil. I pained NAU in Gold (the other school color). It did take a few coats to fully cover the blue.

Final product. I did take some ink (from a stamp pad) and rub it on the edge a little too).

Sadly, I needed to learn how to put the stencil on straight, haha, but I love how it came out.

Cute Little Magnet board and easy magnets!

Every fall ladies from our Church get together and do a craft night. This year I took a leap and did a craft. I think it turned out adorable.

I don't have any picture of the process to make them, but it is super easy.

Supplies :
  • Small piece of metal (I get mine from Lowes in the roofing area for about $1.
  • Fabric that is about the size of a fat quarter....you can use a piece that is a little smaller.
  • Hot glue and hot glue gun
  • Ribbon (I used 24'')
  • Crop-o-dile
I didn't iron my fabric, and it turned out just fine.

Directions:
  1. Cut fabric down to a little larger than the metal
  2. Lay fabric down and put metal on top of it. Hot glue one side of the fabric
  3. Hot glue the opposite side, but stretch the fabric tightly to get out any wrinkles
  4. Hot glue two reminding sides while stretching fabric when need be.
  5. Use a Crop-o-dile and punch holes into the metal.
  6. String ribbon through holes....now it's ready to hang.
Super easy!

These magnets were SO easy! I got magnets from Hobby Lobby and gems that were about the same size and just glued the gems on. Love!

Scripture board

I was wanting to make a scripture board for my family. I've sort of made it a goal to memorize a scripture every few days...this turned out to be super cheap and turned out super cute.

Supplies needed:
  • wood (mine is about 11'' x11'')
  • paint of choice
  • Chalkboard vinyl
  • regular black vinyl
  • black ink pad
Steps
  1. Paint board
  2. rub black ink along edges
  3. cut out a shape for your chalkboard vinyl.
  4. attach chalkboard vinyl to board
  5. measure space  left for wording, cut out of regular vinyl (sticker letters would totally work too.
  6. attach letters.
Easy peesy! I also put a little hanger thing on the back and have it hanging under our family home evening board. It turned out super cute!
